Default What just broke???

I was changing my spark plugs and I guess I leaned on one of the hoses and it was enough to break where it was corroded. Not sure exactly what it is tho and i would appreciate some help

Yep, that's a heater control valve. I hear they have a history of getting fragile sometimes, and stuff like this happens. With yours broken like that, you're going to have to go without a heater for a while until you get it fixed. Loop the heater hose coming from the thermostat housing to the water pump, that will keep you from loosing your coolant.

Autozone has an HCV for 18 dollars plus shipping, i didnt see one on advance. Pick one up and you can have this fixed in no time.

You should have a small vacuum hose coming from the wall, near where the heater hoses connect to your heater core. Don't forget to connect that to the diaphragm. Was your heater working well before?

Just put in a piece of pipe whatever size 1/2 should work I think in place of the hcv for now and block off the vac hose and you should still have heat no need for any extra work, then all you have to do is remove pipe and put in the new hcv and plug in vac line much easier then above sugg.Name: twak.gif
