Putting on a filter really shouldn't cause you so many problems unless there are major mods on you engine. From the pic it doesn't look like it.

Early HOs faced upward like the Renix. Don't know when they switched to sideways. Very well explained bTW.

My 93 and 94 HO both point rearward and both use Napa 1085.

93 must have been the year then. The 91 and 92 engines I built had the filter facing up and used a 1085.

Willets, huh? Speed trap capital of Kalifornia... At least it was back in the 70s.
