My filter looks NOTHING like this. My filter points towards the passenger and it is angled down, very close to the engine block. I'll take a photo in a hour

The filter in the picture is on a Renix era motor, your is an HO era motor. They changed the orientation of the filter adapter.

Just wondering if you figured this out? Also do you have a pic on how the filter is hitting the block? Did your old filter hit?

Yeah this is what I was thinking to or someone did some strange mod to the adapter?? That's why I would like to see how his filter is mounted.

Like he's got a REnix oil filter adapter stud on his HO?

What year is the OP's Jeep anyway?

Here are pictures of the stp in my car. I don't remember the napa number that was in there. As u can see the filter sits flush with the oil housing. And even this filter is close to the block (block is in the right.)

Strange. Like I said in my earlier post, I crossed both your numbers on the WIX site, and it showed both as having the same thread. The STP crossed to a filter listed for Jaguar apps.

The fact that it wants to cross-thread leads me to believe he may have a REnix oil filter adapter.

Long stud.Renix. Short one. HO.

Renix 20mm, HO 3/4X16.

Those are the rods in your adapter your oil filter thread on to. My guess is someone swapped adapters on you.
