Default Weather Strip options?

Looking for replacing the trashed/torn non exsistant weather stripping in my 1995 4 door. I have heard that the '97+ works also in all years and provides both a better seal and is thicker/more durable.

Can any one confirm this? Also is it worth the extra money, on this website, http://www.teamcherokee.com/Weatherstrip/index.html there is a $70 per door difference. I can pick up the stuff for my year for about $30 a door vs almost $100 per door for the '97+ stuff.

Any input would be nice.

Thanks!

97+ only works on the front doors, its too thick for the rear/hatch. But its completely worth it. Reduces noise and increases insulation.

I used fox body weatherstripping found here on my front doors, its about 8" too long but can be easily cut to fit and otherwise works perfectly...

I know places... i was more curious if the huge price in the cost is worth it... and it sounds like 1 person says so... On RockAuto I could only find stripping for older models not the '97+

Well got the "thicker" stuff from Quadratec since there's looked the same and was only $25 a door.

Go to Quadratec, set your vehicle, and search "Watherstrip" and it pops up.... with 2/3 options. I did the one that said up to '99 and visually looked thicker.

Question

How did it work? Did it stop the wind noise?

Reduced the wind noise on mine but I've got the opening wing windows. They're a little noisy.

Oddly enough I moved the front rail of my roof rack from nearly above the front doors to about 1/2 way back down the roof and things got quieter wind noise wise.

Hmm. I was thinking of taking my rails off. This makes me want to even more.
