the only rust in the car was a spot under the rear seat, about 2" in diameter. none anywhere else that i could see at least, none under the car either. florida car (im assuming its been here all its life) so no snow or anything.
the little thing on the passenger door under the window is missing on the outside, and i know water gets in the door when it rains, but i took the panel off inside and nothing...

Any sweet smells? Any kind of greasy looking film on your windows? Your heater core is located right there. If you can, pull the carpet back from that area, turn the heat on, and see if you can spot anything leaking or dripping. What year is your ride?
if water gets in while its raining then theres your problem, the carpet takes forever to dry out because of the layers of padding underneath, if a little water gets in it could be damp for monthes because it has no way to breathe underthere. in the door panel it can dry much quicker because its not padding that soaks up water in there

just to confirm, if it is the a/c leaking, i assume itll only do this when the a/c is on right? if so, ill just leave the a/c off until i get around to fixing this. dont want my new carpet to get all wet haha

If it your heater core then it will only happen when the heater is on and water is flowing through it,some newer models did not have heater control valves though and water circulates all the time,What year is yours?
It will not happen when the ac is on unless the condensation drain is from the evap is clogged.
Run your heater and see if it leaks.
Take a water hose and run it over the window,if there is a leak you will know.

I recently had this problem. Turned out to be a leak in the seal around my windshield. Best way to figure it out is to have a friend/relative take a hose and spray the front of the vehicle. As the other person does that, stick your head under the pass. side of the dash and figure out where its coming from. If you fail to find water, look at the heater core. May need to be replaced.
ok so it hasent rained or anything, and somehow, on the passenger side only, under the rubber floormat it is damp. wtf! i havent even driven the jeep so it cant be the heater or anything under the dash leaking i dont think...the top of my rubber floor mat wasnt wet at all..just under it. a few spots in my carpet look darker (wetter) than the rest which is just slightly damp. weird...id like to figure out what it is though.
