Default Volvo Rad Cap

So, can i just swap to the volvo radiator cap, or do i need to upgrade other components along with it? My stock cap is hissing pretty bad and seems to be losing its pressure holding capacapabilities. 1990 XJ, thanks guys

Why not get a new one. When I hear Volvo, I think more expensive replacement over Jeep\Chrysler

Note from DJ
Purchase and install Stant 10244 pressure bottle cap--from the 2.3 L engine in the 700 series Volvo

I guess i should have stated, i have bought the volvo cap and now have a couple(?) leaks. Seems to be leaking from the hose on the bottom of the pressure bottle, and somewhere from the drivers side. Maybe from the fan sensor in the radiator. Its weird because looks like from under the jeep that its pretty far back. Like under the drivers seat. Pretty sure its just running downhill but still a little confusing to find. Ive cut and reclamped the hose under the bottle but still seems like its seeping out. Will replace hose after payday. Just need to figure this out as im living a couple hours from home and would like to be able to go gome for Christmas

Bottle is probably cracked at the nipple and needs replacing.

Grab a flashlight and crawl under the Jeep and have a gander .

X2 on this. The plastic bottle gets hot and expands then cools and shrinks, and over time it cracks. I went through 3 of them before converting to an "open" cooling system. The bottom nipple is more vulnerable when pulling the hose off the bottom of it.. May want to pull the bottle to verify there are no hairline cracks. I've seen some aluminum tanks with a legit radiator cap that goes on them that I debated on getting. Quite pricey tho..

Pulled the bottle off yesterday, plugged holes and filled, nothing comimg out. I know it could be a hairline and it needs to run and expand to really tell. Ended up cutting the hose down about 1/2 inch on bottom side. Still seems to be seeping out from there. I guess I'll replace it and see if thats it. Weird thing about it is where its puddling on the groumd under the jeep. Basically right under drivers seat and passenger seat

It's most likely running down the uni body pinch welds. just find where it's coming from, and you should eliminate all of it. On both sides.
