Not sure about the newer ones, But any pre 96 should fit if your talking about the vents in the front doors. Easy to do also. Pop door panel off, then 2 screws and 2 bolts, pop it out and pop the new one in. just make sure door glass is in the track when you put it together. While your in there lube the window cable and door stop. Window will go up and down nice and easy and no more pop crunch when you close the door.

Any vent windows in any year that has vent windows will fit your '89. I'm pretty sure vent windows only occur in the "old style" '84-'96 XJs.
On another note, if you manage to install one, do a step by step write-up with pics especially of the removal of the old window. I'm planning to swap my vent windows out for non-vent windows one o' these days.

Thanks a bunch guys! And it's for the front two windows (I only have two) and it's in a two door but a truck not a XJ. And why would you not what vent windows? It's like having A/C

I have a 96 2-door XJ with solid glass where the vent window should be... not a single glass for the door. I've had enough vehicles with both styles to want vent windows. With no working a/c, opening both vents wide and keeping the windows shut ventilates very nicely while getting road noise a little bit away from your ears. I'll convert to vent windows ASAP.

My vent window on driver side leaks. Can't figure out how to stop the leak & it's not cool having water running down into the electronic door locks, on the carpet etc.

I had the same issues with mine. They leaked tons of water whenever I'd wash the Jeep, and whistled loudly on the highway. I got two non-opening windows from the junkyard and had a glass shop install them. The window frame is only held in by three bolts, but the main window glass must be moved out of the way to get the vent window frames in and out. Probably not *too* hard but I didn't feel like messing with the power window regulators and such...

That's an idea. I just might pay someone to do it for me. I have already had short in there. I don't know if it's from water, but I could certainly eliminate that suspect.
