Default Under Jeep cam

I duct taped the camera under the Jeep and went for a ride around the block.
You can hear the knocking, I am working on that, but you can kind of hear the grinding I was actually looking for. But it doesn't seem like it's coming from the hub.
I just thought you all might like to see the video. It's kind of neat. I want to do another one, with a better view of the whole underside. I want to see what's going on down there.

Thank you Char.. What did I do wrong?

1 bad 4.0,
To be honest I don't know. It was already on it. I don't think it's from a discount place though, it's a pretty good one. Real solid and heavy.
Could ya hear the grinding a little bit? What the hell is that?

There is a lot of ambient noise which makes it hard to tell. But I have the same issue going on right now except it is less of a gringing noise and for lack of a better explination souds like a power steering pump that is under load but coming from the drivers front wheel. If I turn right while in motion the noise goes away, and to the left the noise in constant. Does your car make more noise turning one way as opposed to the other? And just like you there is no play in the bearings. I am almost thinking that the caliper could be sticking a little on that side and might need to be lubed on my car.

Yeah that was the best I could do with that camera, I'm going to do it again, and try to get a better look at things, maybe put a piece of tape over the mic to try to cut out the wind noise.

Mine is the passenger front, or at least it sounds like it from inside the cab.
It does it while in motion always, does not change while turning, sounds like a brake grinding metal to metal, from inside the cab, but it's not. I have new calipers, rotors and pads. That and the rotors would be discolored from getting hot if it were. They are still nice and shiny metal, after I took it 12 miles at 70+mph..
I want to get this problem solved, before I move on to the engine. The knock doesn't bother me, if it blows up, it blows up. I'm saving for a rebuild anyway.
But that grinding is killing me.
It also pulls to that side. Maybe it is the wheel bearing. I just don't know now, and hate to throw parts at a problem.

It is more than likely your axle bearing. I would pull that side and check the axle bearing and axle u-joint just to see if the problem can be diagnosed. If it were me though, I would just replace both axle bearings and possibly both axle u-joints and chalk it up to preventative maintenance if nothing else.
