Default Rear Windshield wiper question

Hey, I had a general question for you guys. I have owned my 99 cherokee sport for about a year now and a small question has been nagging at me every time it rains or snows. Does the rear wiper work on a delay when you turn on the wipers? Right now I have to hit the rear wiper fluid button below the heat and AC controls to get it to clean off the window if it rains. Any help would be great.

Mine only does about a second's worth of delay and turns on, doing the same thing you're doing. Completely separate motor and such so ya gotta push that switch...

On my 96 if I push the button up its on like a 5 second delay then it repeats. If I hold it down it sprays and if I let go it wipes about 5 times.

Most likely there is a wire broken in the top of the hatch. The wires coming from the body into the hatch flex everytime the hatch is opened. Thanks to Jeep, and there cheap wire, there are problems there and the front doors. I believe the wire you're looking for is brown w/ lt green tracer.
