Cool Twenty dollar 87 Wagoneer list of issues

Hello all just gonna put this small list here of what currently needs to be fixed on my "Thrift jeep" so that maybe I can get a lil help along the way lol.

Electric fan no longer cuts itself on when the truck gets a lil warm,Previous owner wired a set of leads to the fan itself and ripped them out before I bought her.

Rough and shaky idle when she first starts so you have to let her warm out for five minutes before shifting out of park or she stalls out and you have to restart her.

Power seats work only if you put direct voltage to the connectors under the seat.

Alt may or may not be failing have to test it at work.

Interior needs a little work. Headliner is drooping everywhere and a few more small things.

-Fixed-

Bad ground issue to rear tail lights was causing my tun signals to go out intermittently so I popped off the rear lights and wedged something next to the ground so it would make full contact with the bulb. Also took put badly wired trailer lights and a bad flasher

4WD Was stuck in "LOCK" when I first got her, took some doing but managed to slip her into 2wd for driving her home, owner informed me once I got home she say for three years in 4wd.

That's it for now! will post more is it happens or as i get replys!

Check your throttle position sensor and idle air control on your throttle body

I'll give you $40 for your 1987 Wagonner. 100% profit! How can you ignore that?

Agreed with others, those problems are very typical electrical issues for a 24 year old Jeep. The factory grounds sucked to begin with.

So, do you believe that doing the things suggested in post 3 would be worthwhile?

SJ - Full-sized Wagoneer:

XJ Wagoneer - (mid-sized/compact) a Highly optioned XJ Cherokee with a different grill and wood-grain:

SJ was the platform for the original Cherokee, Wagoneer, and Grand Wagoneer series. The Wagoneers were built until 1983, and Grand Wagoneers until 1991.

None of them came with a 4.0L like it states in the OP's profile. I don't believe they included electric fans, either.

Mine would be an XJ as seen here it says 4.0L on the hatch and most definetly has an electric fan on the driver side of the radiator
