Maybe to him that is a serious job. Which in that case pat yourself on the back and say, "Hey I know how to fix that." Also his first post, even though he never directly said help, was asking for information about how to take the cover off the diff. Thus asking for help. What seems easy to one person, say myself, can be a very complicated job to someone else. This can be due to less experience or the individual does not have a mechanical mindset. Does that difference in experience, that thought pattern, justify constant bashing? In my book, no. If he has such a bad rep and does not seem teachable to you, then leave him with no answer. Trying to make a crowd turn against him is a waste of time and effort. That same time and effort could be spent on something else, like going 4 wheeling or tinkering with your own rig. Where something worth accomplishing is.

Is this guy obviously lacking common mechanical sense? Yes. Obviously. There's your shot for those of you that want to ridicule the guy.

However, he actually wants to tackle some stuff himself. This automatically ranks him ahead of the other 90% of the US population that is scared to change their own air filter.

So cut the guy some slack.

Bimmer, go get dirty and break some ****. Report back. Repeat.
I Agree
