Default Transmission Fluid Question

Next Sunday I'm going to be driving to Las Vegas, it's only about 5 hours, but I want to make sure that I extra fluids.

I have an AW4 Transmission. I was looking in the owner's manual, and it states using the MOPAR, or the equivalent DEXRON II and MERCON.

I can only seem to find DEXRON III / MERCON. Is this okay for my transmission?

Dextron III...use it, love it. The tranny's weren't made for the ATF+4.

Chrysler only started recommending it after all Cherokees were out of their warranty period....makes you wonder huh?
