Transmission acting odd.
So I'm always really keen to notice anything out of the ordinary with my jeep and today as I was driving I noticed my transmission do something different in it's shifting.
It went through it's normal shift pattern with unlocked converter till I noticed at about 42 or 43 about when it normally goes to lockup it seemed as if if was already in lockup but it was in a lower gear then it should be and the engine was well above it's normal rpm. I did test this while driving a few times to be sure and it was definitely in lockup but not in highest gear.
the weather did just get cold here in Ohio but it did have ample time to warm up. Any help or experience would be great thanks guys!

Basics first.
1. Check level of transmission fluid with hot engine, fully exercised transmission, level ground.
2. What color is the fluid? Should be red in color. When was the last time the transmission was serviced?

TRANSMISSION CONNECTOR REFRESHING
OCTOBER 30, 2015 SALAD 13 COMMENTS EDIT
Over near the transmission dipstick tube are 2 rather large connectors. One is black and goes to the NSS and the gray connector goes to the transmission itself

. These 2 connectors carry all the info between TPS, TCU, NSS, speed sensor, and transmission solenoids.Unplug each one, visually inspect for corrosion or bent pins, spray them out with electrical contact cleaner and plug them back in.
Additionally, if your Jeep is an ’87 to ’90 Renix, it’s always a good idea to reach up under the glovebox area and unplug the connector to the TCU and spray it out along with the receptacle of the TCU. While you’re there, find the fuse right in that area for the TCU. Remove it and spray out it’s receptacle and clean any corrosion from the fuse.
