I don't know how to remove the studs on the driver side of my crossmember. I called rustys and they said to get a bolt extractor but i don't really have much money right now. Can someone please walk me through a fairly easy way to do this without using a bolt extractor?

If you have access to a welder you can take the nut off the studs, drop the crossmember, thread the nut back on so it's flush with the end of the stud, tack weld it to the stud, and back it out with a ratchet.

The nut trick is definitely the easiest way to do it. What you do is thread on two nuts and butt them up against each other. Then you put the wrench on only the top one and loosen it. Because it's butted up against the other nut, it has no where to go when you try to loosen it and you're able to remove the stud. Make sense?
Dont use heat on the drivers side. There is a fuel line right next to it. Dont ask how I know that. I used a stud extractor but it twisted off. I rigged a new hole on the cross member plate and bolted into the frame flange with a small spacer pipe between. Seem to work.
WOW! I didnt know that. I used map gas on all 4 bolts. Guess I got luky.I even proped the gas in place had a smoke while it heated for each bolt.
