i have a question for you guys running lifts of 3" to 4.5, i am looking for a lift to go on my 01 cherokee but i would like it to still have decent onroad manners. none of the sloppy steering or "roll" of the body when going down the highway or back roads. this will be an all around DD, offroad, and onroad vehicle. i have been looking at rough country lifts but curious on the 4.5" mostly. any help/ suggestions would be great.

Anytime that you lift a vehicle it's going to be more top heavy and have more body roll, Just don't expect to put the lift on there and it to handle like it did before that being said I have almost all rough country stuff on mine and I like it so far.

Call Dirk at DPG Offroad http://www.dpgoff-road.com/site/OMEXJkits.htm. He's an OME vendor, and is extremely helpful. He'll answer any questions you have. You'll pay more for OME, but I have yet to hear anyone say they regret going with OME. I have heard them say that about RC though.

If you want it to drive like a stocker get a budget boost. Anything more and you will need to spend lotsa moneys. Lift kits do not come with everything needed especially if you are considering cheap lifts. Since you have an 01, an sye will be needed with anything over 3.5" to eliminate drive line vibrations. You will also need adjustable everything to get a proper alignment. There is no cheap way to get a lifted xj to behave like a stocker besides the budget boost.

I just put RC's 4.5" long arm kit on mine with full spring packs. It was rough at first but now that the springs are settling it's getting a lot smoother.
Also, the kit doesn't come with the 2.2 steering stabilizer but I got mine thrown in for free and it makes a big difference. I'm also running the Durango steering gear box so I can turn my steering wheel with one finger. I dont have any bump steer issues at all.

I have all RC on my rig and are very happy with it. Money well spent IMO. It rides really well and handles pretty darn good too. Its only a 3in plus 1.5in spacers with S-10 bastard pack.Very durable. Did have to do a tc drop though. Anytime you lift you have the possability of bump steer and death wobble.
