Hi everyone. Today, I was in the process of changing my 2001 XJ exhaust system and O2 sensor and I noticed a tube was torn. One end of the tube was connected to front differential and the other end goes under the hood but it is not connected to anything and it just has a plastic cap. I did some research and I believe it should be front axle breathing tube(please correct me based on the pictures if I'm wrong). I temporarily taped it as you see in the pictures but I wanted to know if it is safe to drive it for a day or two until I get the time and part to fix it or not. Also, I did some research but I could not find the part online. Does anyone know where I can buy this part from? Lastly, I want to know if I have to change the differential fluid because of this or not.
Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

If you don't know how long the tube has been damaged, there is no way of knowing if the fluid in the diff has been compromised. I'm sure you can use any oil resistant tubing from the auto parts store, just get the correct size. It wouldn't hurt to open the diff and inspect the fluid.
