Changing valve cover gasket issue.
Hey guys, I've done some reading and I'm looking for any other input or help. A few weeks ago I got this 1990 Jeep Cherokee Limited. I was changing the valve cover gasket because it was leaking horribly. Anyways, when I was reinstalling the valve cover, I went to tighten the bolt in the very back that's harder to get at and my socket fell down and I didn't see where it had went. Well I grabbed another socket just to finish up, but when I went looking for the socket that fell I could not find it. I started the jeep and moved it a little to see if it might fall out, and noticed when I'm moving and only seems when I'm turning I can hear the socket somewhere. From reading I'm afraid it may have fell in the bell housing. Anybody else have any ideas?

It's possible it's on top of the transmission... That's why when I work outside I use my cheap tools and my snapon and Matco stays at work! I highly doubt it got into the bell housing

Usually a magnet on a retractable arm will reach most places it could have fallen to retrieve the socket. This tool is sold anywhere tools are sold I have 4-5 in different sizes in my tool box's some almost as old as I am and that is OLD.

it could have rolled down the trans and fell into were the trans and transfer case meet. I think there are some pockets up there. I know there is a bracket in the back of the trans.
