For those here needing a new set of 235/75R15 all-terrain tires I'd like to recommend the General Grabber A/T X. Just put a set on my '96 Blazer. Minimal amount of weight to balance and fairly quiet. I was a bit pessimistic about the tread depth specs I was seeing. But it is a 16/32" tread depth.

I've got a set in 30x9.5x15 to replace my old 235/75-15 AT2s. I'm hoping to get them mounted next week if I can finish repainting my wheels tomorrow.

A very good tire and awesome in the snow, but a little lacking in tread life. I've had better luck with Cooper Discoverer AT3s. I tend to scrub rubber off them quickly with lots of U-turns, K-turns, and circling in cul-de-sacs.

We don't do near the mileage you do. I was more concerned with tread depth due to the type of improved, unimproved, and no roads we travel. These replaced Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015's (P235/75R15 w/ 13/32" tread). Good tires but road conditions wore them faster than I liked. Actually the AT3's were my second choice.

I've run the General AT Grabbers for years now, and really liked them. Last time around, I went with the Kumho AT51, and I will not be going back to the Grabbers. The Kumhos give me better handling and better traction, wet, dry, or snow. The ONLY downside is that they do sing a bit at highway speed, but only a bit.
I put their all season tires on my wife's mini-van, and they are amazing. They handle like a sport radial and have great traction wet or dry or snow.
I'm sold!

Over the past months there is probably not an a/t or hybrid tire I haven't checked out. I REALLY LIKED the looks of the Kumho but was concerned with the small tread lugs and siping and wear due to the many unimproved private roads we travel.
I also reference this link although it doesn't include all tire brands:

EZEARL, I've been really happy with the Kumhos in all situations - but that is completely biased to the rocky mountains and southwestern deserts. That includes on road and off road in most extreme weather conditions. All that said, I do agree that they aren't a mud tire and may not do as well in the clay and loamy soils back east.

The roads we travel on range anywhere from a 6 lane interstate (only once a month THANKFULLY) down to farm/logging roads. The drive to our home is 1/2mile from the state road with a 9% 150yd grade and varies anywhere from talcum powder to mud /ice /snow. Neither of us have been impressed with the performance of the Yokohama tires except for on paved or concrete roads where they were just fine in all types of weather. I ran a set of Grabber A/T2's on the XJ. Great tire for everything I needed them to do and is one of the main reasons I went for the ATX on the Blazer. Had a wreck with the XJ and ruined one A/T2 so went with Falken A/T3W's due to the low cost which will be good until next winter. They're as good as the A/T2's but took a lot more weight to balance. All tires I'm referring to are 235's. I'll wait until this time next year and see what's available then.
