Question tire question

will 31x10.5s scrub with a stock suspension and no cutting on a 1990 XJ?

31's will not fit on a stock xj unless you trim. So yes, they will rub.

from what iv read and heard and experience the biggest size you can go with no rubbing and not having to trim is 235x75x15

I have 30x9.5's on my 2001. They drive fine with no rubbing.
Keep in mind, though.. this is for street driving. I got rub as soon as I flexed my suspension a bit off road...

Not a deal breaker for me, since I have my old beater XJ for trail riding and my new one is mostly a pavement princess. But yeah, 30" fit fine if you're not doing anything other than light trail riding, but past that they'll rub.

You could cut, and put fenderflares.. That will give the added inch of clearence you need without a lift. ( i was told )

I went with the 3" lift myself tho.

i talked to mty brother and we might try the cuting and putting wider flares on. his boss told him the same thing.
