ok so im replacing the bushings int the driverside tie rod end and the passenger side drag link end, both where they are closest to the tires, so i get the bolts off and replace the bushings then i go to put the castle nits back on and they will only go on a little bit then stop and wont go any more, i think the studs are messed up some how, so im thinking bout ordering a new driverside tierod end, but what about the drag link end can i replace it some how wthout having to buy a whole new assembly?????

Dude, I would like to help, but I don't have any idea what you mean by bushings. The steering knuckles don't have bushings. Did you put the tie rod ends back in the large side of the hole?

yes i know that, i dont want to buy the whole assembly, just the driverside tie rod end(i know where to buy one of those) and the outer and of the drag link connected to the knuckle, cause both studs that the castle nuts go on are messed up
If you want to do an upgrade while you have the steering apart, then pick up the drivers side tie rod and ends for a V8 ZJ to replace the wimpy stock unit on the XJ. The stock piece is a thin wall hollow tube that is prone to bending with oversized tires. The V8 ZJ tie rod is a solid unit with alot more strength.
