Default thermostats

I think I need a new thermostat as my dash gauge never seems to go above 130 degrees or so, and the heat seams lukewarm. The jeep never feels warm when the outside temp is below 32.

What should I buy? Dealer? Anything?

I've had good results with Stant stats from the various local auto parts stores. Always a good idea to test a stat prior to installing and it's easy to do in a pan of water on top of the stove using a cooking thermometer.

You know my experience with Stants.

I'd suggest one from the dealer. One time and you're good to go.

Wonder if the OP's XJ even has a t-stat? Even a crappy old Stant stat would be better than none at all, no? Peace bro.

If it doesn't have a t-stat, and u install one, be prepared for a overheat. Remember, a properly functioning t-stat does one thing only....determine MINIMUM coolant temp. The rest of the cooling system along with it's condition and driving conditions determine maximum coolant temp.

I think it was this one MOTORAD 7200195. It doesn't say if it has a jiggle valve.

No I installed it but I don't know what a jiggle valve is. It is working quite well so far though.
