There's a goose under my jeep...
Well, I replaced the drivers side axle u-joint and I'm still hearing the squeal/whine/goose noise. Going to check the front driveshaft u-joints tomorrow. Anybody know what sound a bad hub might make when its on its way out...its been several years since I last dealt with a bad hub. The whining sound still develops around 30mph, tried turning the wheel back and forth trying to listen for a change in pitch but I just couldn't tell. Thanks for the replies.

It spun by hand, didnt feel any grinding or anything. I am planning on changing the hubs soon anyways, didnt want to do it tonight as it was too late to borrow a torque wrench that can do 175ft/lbs. I dont care about tearing into it again as this is not my daily driver. Guess I will pull the front driveshaft tomorrow and see what happens. Thanks.

LOL, I can honestly say that when I first heard it I looked up to see if there was flock overhead....then I remembered that I drive a Jeep...with 186,000 miles...and realized my Jeep was the culprit
