Temperature sending unit

Hey, so I was having problems with my motor temp not reading correctly so I replaced the Temperature sending unit. Now It will not read at all, And I did burp the system already. Any ideas?

There are TWO different coolant temp sensors for your vintage XJ. Be sure you have the correct one. One feeds the computer, one feeds the gauge.
If I remember correctly, The temp sensor for the gauge is located at the back of the head near the firewall, on the drivers side.
It is not that uncommon to get the incorrect application from the parts store. Unless you specify exactly which one you need. That may be your issue.

it would look like this read the details itsfor a guage one way to check at least older cars is to ground the wire to it then turn key to run see if gauge moves..http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...4150_173413_0_
