Temp sending unit

Temp sending unit
Anyone got any tips for removing the coolant temp sending unit at the back of the head. Mine is really close to the valve cover and I can't get a socket on it. I don't have the right angle for a wrench or a pair of channel locks. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I've seen guys who used a Dremel to trim the valve cover just enough to put a socket on it.
