Default Help with removing old temp sending unit

There is very little room to move on my 1994 Grand when removing the old temp sending unit. The one that works the temp gauge. Sockets won't fit and an open end has nowhere to move. Help!!!!

are you using a "deep well" socket?

No, does a deep well have a shallow socket, because the problem is the closeness of the unit to the head. It looks like the only way to manipulate is with a 90 degree open end (it seems to be a 13mm), I just can't seem to find if one of those exists other than as a box. A socket won't fit down over the hex head that is left after the female part has broken off. I can fit it with a regular 13 open end but there is no torque room. Am I making any sense? It is hard to actually see this and I only found it out by feeling it with my fingers. Thanks for your suggestion. This little part has been the biggest PIA ever, I had to order one online 'cause the earlier ones are a simple bolt, and are way cheaper and probably don't break like these do. Thanks again.

no a deep well socket is very tall. You should go to an autoparts store and purchase a shallow socket as one that is used with a fan belt kit. Or try using a wobble socket, you may have to buy a series of extensions to make it work. Another option is a ratcheting wrench. SOmetimes when I can't figure it out I just go to the tool section and stare I eventually come up with something

EggZackttlee! I mean about 'zen'ing out in the tool section, that was on my mind. That is where I am heading tomorrow, although AZ didn't have the original part I needed and I had to convince them it really did exist. The ratcheting wrench is a good call, that seems like it might do the trick.
