Default Temp Right?

Ok so my jeep gets up to around 210 sometimes a little bit past pretty quick.My dad said that it is normal becuase it olny has a 190 thermostat (sp?). Is this true?

normal operating temp is 210 for that year, i believe

yeah cherokees are desinged to run at 210 which seems a little warm to most people.

it does seem a little warm. i run at about the same level in my 1999.

Its normal If you are weird about it pick up a 180 thremo. from napa for about 8 bucks and it will run about 200 or 190

any pros or cons about running the stock hotter temp than a lower temp like 180 with a different t stat?

I run lower because I cracked my head but I ain't had any trouble at all. I think the heater runs hotter since I changed my temp.

It can't hurt to put I new thermostat in it anyhow. Then you will have spare if anything happens to it.
