Tans/rear axle???
I just got my Jeep up and running fine today and then my wifes jeep starts acting up today. It's a 98 I really don't know how to describe but when I drive it I here a whining noise coming from the back, and when I come to a complete stop it feels like it's kind of slipping when I give it gas it does not want to go no where but the rpms don't rev up either but if I let up on the gas it goes fine. It does not do it all time, also when its in park just idling speedometer goes crazy it does in drive to. I'm stumped on this one

Well after a lot of searching and reading I think I found my problem, which is a bad TCU (transmission control unit). Might sound dumb, but I have no idea where it's located and how hard is it change out? It's on 98, If anyone knows, could you help me out, Thanks

No the CEL has not came on, but it feels like it wants to take off in 2 gear, really sluggish but once it hits all the other gears it's fine
