Default t case drop stock height

Hey, finally got my new head installed and the jeep running. I have the interior rippes out right now to do some cleaning on the carpet since the PO's dog shed his entire coat in there it seems. But anyways, when I was pulling the motor to paint it and change head, I droppes the trans/ tcase crossmember to get to top bolts on bell housing and in typical jeep fashion I sheared half the bolts off for mount. Since I have to get into the frame rails and get old bolts out I figured I might as well put longer bolts in and weld them in place and I don't want threads sticking way down cuz they might get beat up when it comes time to lift it and drop tcase. So my question is, will it be okay to do 3/4" tcase drop now? I plan on doing bastard pack in the rear and possibly longer springs in the front if I can find any at junkyard but spacers if not. I'm just trying to avoid ripping the interior out more than once because Its in good shape. This jeep will be a DD so Im not undercoating the inside and leaving the carpet out.

It's only going to hurt belly clearance.

But tcase drops really do suck.

HnT or other SYE would be much better.

Yeah I see no reason to do a tcase drop... Get stock sized bolts and then when and if you lift it, just get an SYE. Tcase drops are no good anyways.

Yes, but have yet to install that tcase.

A buddy helped me, and had his buddy take the end of the output shaft off with a lathe.

I should be getting the case back and back together this weekend, and sometime next week I'll swap the tcases.

More explanation, we didn't have our Liberty at the time, so i had to have my XJ running and driving. The tcase I got with the AX15 had a stretched chain, so I had no 4wd, and it was winter. So I traded stuff for a working tcase to swap in while I got help with the HnT.

I know an awful lot, but when it comes to actually making stuff happen I prefer to work with friends who have experience as well. I have little confidence in myself, but that's getting too personal. Lol

Ok so even doing the tcase drop isn't worth the time. Ill have to look into the hack and tap. I remember seeing it here a couple years ago when I had my 96 xj but never got around to doing it. Thanks for the input guys. I appreciate it!

The hnt really is the better option. A tcase drop is really only a bandaid.

I'm not sure what t case. I'm sure there is a thread but I've been pretty busy with work. I just put 4 new bolts in that have about 1/8" threads still sticking out with nuts tightened down. Put carpet over holes for now. Plan to put peel and seal throughout to cut down street noise so ill fix them then.
