sway bar disconnect issues
do you unhook them and secure them to the swaybar? I have to do that to mine or they fall down and do exactly that. just use a little piece if mechanics wire and when you hook them back up wrap the wire tight around the swaybar.

I think i am just going to weld a plate over the hole, cut down the bolts, and see what happens. I might take a half inch off of the rod and redrill a new hole. We will see tho.

now, all instructional installation photos i've found show the sway bar to be inside mounting bracket as shown.

not sure if that makes a difference, mine are on the outside of it, but makes the bracket spin and twists the end links.
maybe just cut the bolt down? no harm there... i still don't understand how it protruded the body and airbox. with it disconnected, what forced it?
i just zip tie mine to my bumper tie in bracket in a X.

no it rarely gets disconnected, mine are most always connected.... and i tried that at first... it would not fit with the bolt head too... But i may give it one more shot and with a carriage bolt.
Thank you for the picture it was helpful!

just do it this way i have the same discos i just remove the bottom bolt and leave discos together then tie up out of the way when i put them back on i do pass. side first then usally back up just a little and it lines up the drivers side and just put the bolt back in. takes about three minutes tops.
I had the same problem with my rough country disco... Even just riding down the street they would hit... You need to modify your links in some way to make them shorter. I didn't have a hole in my wheel wellbut there was a dint, I trimmed off 1 inch and it rides perfect now...
I can't get this meausurment for you but whatever the distance is from the axle mount to the swaybar is on a stock xj is it should be very similar with yours.

5* from the bar. 0-10* from the mounting point.
