I'm wondering that same thing. Does it actually say no ethanol in it at the pump? Is straight petrol even capable of being 91 octane?

Premium gas not containing ethanol is a myth. If it says ethanol on the pump, all grades, including premium, have it. Yes, gasoline with or without ethanol can be 91 octane.

I'm at altitude, 5000 feet now and regularly go up to 10/12k. They sell 85 here because the lack of o2 or pressure or something keeps engines from knocking apparently. I still run 87 and seem to get GREAT mileage out of it. Like, 21mpg real via true checking (I use the same gas station / pump every time) What gives?

Ethanol! Korn!

Now that u've bragged about getting 21 mpg, u've probably jinxed it by 10%-20% reduction.

That depends on your area and state. In my area in PA, there is only one ethanol-free station in town. In Rochester, NY, there are ethanol-free stations everywhere. They typically only have 91 as ethanol-free, however. I got two extra mpg's running it on my other vehicle.

How many gas stations r there in a given area?(a lot) How many refineries supply those gas stations?(a few) How does one gas station get ethanol free gas delivered to it from a refinery when that one gas station is surrounded by other gas stations that r supplied with ethanol gas that all the refineries are supplying?

How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

Ask that of your smartphone. The answer is hilarious...
