Default Stereo immobilised?

Hi, hope I'm asking this in the right section. I have a '93 Limited 4.0. A while back I had running problems and it turned out to be a dodgy key fob. After replacing this the car now runs fine but my stereo was displaying a message asking me to put a code in, I guessed it as 1234 and it accepted this but it now says Wait 2hr. Any ideas anyone? I do a lot of driving and need the radio for traffic updates. Any help gratefully received

Did you manage to find a solution on this one?

I entered 3 times the wrong code and now my radio says Wait 2Hr as well .... and I keep checking it it has now been 4hrs and it still says wait 2Hr

Do I have to leave the radio on for 2hrs with the ignition on the on position??

I have found the correct code marked on the radio body ... but cannot enter it until this silly message goes away

Unplug it for 24 hours.

You could try to disconnect the battery for some time (possibly up to 2hrs..?)or have power to it like you're thinking.

Those would be the first two things I'd try.

Mine did the same thing! Unfortunately you have to leave the ignition/power on for 2 hour before the stereo will reset.

Hello guys it did work indeed!
I did not need to have the engine running for 2 hrs!

Just have the ignition switch to the on position with the dash lights and dials reading.

It did take more than 2hrs! ... around 4hrs more less.
So I had the booster connected to my battery incase it drains it.

Entered the code in once the annoying wait went away.
And worked great
