Default starting my project 89 xj/help?

now that i got some help from a few of you i finialy got it.so i got a few questions.what would be the max tire size if ma 89 xj is lifted 3inch and tube fenders? cause my plan is 3 of 4 half inch lift but im tight on the money so ill go 3 prob.and all tube fenders and cut back fenders.new bumpers wheels and tires and thats all for now.but give me some ideas on bumpers cause im makin my own next week

max tire size i guess depends on how much ur willing to cut ur fenders. what tube fenders? bumpers... look at the fab section and see what others have done. get ideas and go from there

From that thread, this is 1.5" and 37s, so you can run pretty much whatever you want.

Just keep in mind that with bigger tires you need to change gears too. I wouldnt recommend going over 33s with stock axles either...

im cuttin as far as they can go.haha i just got a job in an exhaulst shop and there fonna bend all my pipes for me and ima weld them all so im gonna make my own fenders.and thanks.ill go look at that now

and yeah i no im staying at 33s till i have enough money for new gears and axles.and once this engine blows in goes a 350 with a few fab mods

a good way to go higher without spending as much money if you just need a couple inches is to use springs for a late 70's ford. my frontend is all homade and when I went to look for springs I got almost 6 inches from a pair of ford springs that were only 3 inches longer than stockfor a ford. If yo wanted to go 4 inches you would only need ford springs made for a 2 inch lift.Its only a little stiff but if its offroad you hardley notice at all.

yeah that was another question i had.if im using diffrent leaf springs what other make and model ones could i use and what coil srings i could use,like the make and model.and could a chevy 1 ton rear and front end fit it?
