Stalling Issue
My issue is when I start my XJ it will stall unless I keep my foot on the gas. Once I am in drive and going everything is normal. No stalling, RPM are normal, idles around 500 to 1000. If i turn off and back on its fine.
About a month ago I had the same issue. At that time I cleaned my TB and IAC and installed and went away.
I have been getting bad MPG's lately and was going to replace my CCV hoses.
What else should I check for?

Have it scanned for fault codes.
How old are plugs, wires, cap and rotor? 30,000 mile replacement interval on all that stuff.

Have not scanned for codes yet.
They were all replaced 2 years ago and only about 20K miles on them(will have to check my book for exact mileage but wouldnt be over 30K)
It seemed to be fine yesterday afternoon and this morning starting up. Yesterday I was priming the fuel pump(turning key 3 times before starting) and that is when it happened.

I wonder if you have an injector or 2 not completely closing when turned off.....
Find some BG44K somewhere. add the whole can to a full tank of gas. Drive til it's down to half tank. Refuel to Full. drive til it's at 1/8 tank.

Sounds good. Ill try that. I have been wondering if it was my injectors as well but wasn't sure how to check or clean them.
Is there maintenance I should be going on cleaning my fuel injectors?

Update. Still have not used the 44k yet. Waiting until next gas fill up. Today I replaced my CCV Hoses and ran it for a while until to running temperature. Shut off and then tried to started the XJ and it turned over but unless revved the engine it wouldn't idle. Could this be a crankshaft position sensor issue?

One other thing. Yesterday after driving for 15 minutes had to run into a store came out 10 minutes later and the jeep acted like the battery was dead. Poped the hood didn't touch anything and heard the beeping of key in ignition and turned it and started right up

How old is your battery?
Connections clean and tight at the starter and where the ground cable connects to the Jeep?

Battery and Battery cable terminals are about 3 years old. Replaced both at the same time. Cleaned the posts last night. Was not able to check the connections due to darkness.
This morning was the first time a cold start that I had hard time turning over and had to keep my foot on gas or stalled. Also I have been noticing a reduction in MPG over the past 6 months.

Most batteries don't last over 3 years.

Do i need to take the battery out for a auto parts store to test it or can they while its still in?
I always think its something else and never consider the battery.
