Default Speedometer is Off

I believe my speedo is off around 5-6 mph at higher than 60 mph speeds. Odometer still reads relatively correct I think. Anyone have this issue and what needed to be fixed to correct it?

Doubtful re-geared, I am the 3rd owner...all previous ones were NOT gearheads or 4x4 fanatics. Ok..so speed sensor? Is that located on the diff somewhere or tranny?

If you have 31" tires (most popular), you will need to put a 32 tooth speedometer gear in your transfer case. That's probably the problem.

Yeah, sounds like the problem. If it is, here is a step by step procedure I put together telling you how to do it. Shouldn't take you more than 10 minutes to do.

Hope this helps.

EDIT< Tire size stock should be 215-75-R15 and it HAS 225-75-R15's ...yet the speedo still shows way off {faster than it should be}. So you think this part on the transfer case will fix this then? Why would that make a difference with that little of tire change..?

Took it by a shop who did the scan on it while driving and the speed was on and off the correct mark and fluctuating, he recommends it's the trans/speed sensor...anyone have pics of this one being installed?
