Got a 88 4.0 5 speed, just replaced my throwout bearing and now you start it and it makes this chewing kinda noise and it bogs the motor enough to kill it. And it's in neutral when this is happening. It doesn't matter if you have the clutch in or out because it still does it. I don't know if somethin is hangin up or if my jeep is bound determined to never see the road again =/
Well it's hard to describe.. But ya ever herd what it sounds like when a dog chews on a metal crate? Cause that's almost what it sounds like
Well that's the thing I would but when I started it earlier and did the noise and died, I tried to start it back up and the noise got worse and bogged the motor so it wouldn't start..
And I'm nervous about screwin somethin up..it already has enough problems...

it almost sounds like the starter isn't disengaging to me...? or is loose..
Guess I'll have ta check it after work...I hope that's just it..I swear if it's somehow somethin expensive the jeep is goin across the scales...

Pull the crank sensor back out and look at it. It sounds like the sensor could be dragging on the flywheel. That would for sure cause running problems and some sort of noise.
Yup it was the crank sensor, bolts weren't tight on it and it ended up braking so got a new one and she's runnin once again
thanks for the help!
