Panhard Rod Chassis mounting bracket (to drop steering components in 1 piece)

Please please support that vehicle properly with jackstands or solid lumber cribbing! Concrete blocks should Not be used. And using the stock jack in this manner is inviting a tip over.

I personally have known more than one person, who are no longer with us, due to their vehicle falling and crushing them. And, they were following the letter of the law on lifting and supporting vehicles. Even when done correctly, accidents happen. PLEASE minimize the risk, sir...just looking out for a fellow jeeper

Looks to me that he's using that weird stack of blocks and the bottle jack to hold up the motor, not the entire vehicle. The pic shows the jack supporting the oil pan.

I am curious what he has under the side to hold up the vehicle, but I didn't see a pic showing that. Maybe he does have a jack stand back there.

 

I always have had a welder handy and have removed a lot of broken off bolts by welding the center of a Nut to the broken bolt. The heating of the bolt from the welding also helps loosen the threads and then they usually come out pretty easy using the welded on nut to turn it.

 

I did consider that, but the front of the vehicle should not be cantilevered
that far.

That is something I really like about this forum, the general concern of safety for fellow members

The car has 3 wheels on the ground, there is a jack stand under the chassis rail under the right side just before the the engine bay.

There is a jack stand under the gearbox cross member, the engine is suspended by 2 1/2 ton ratchet strap from above (capable roof beam).

The jack under the engine is just to stop the engine from hanging on its own and to stabilize it.

I've been around car's for long enough to know when its safe to be under them, and in saying that as soon as the car stopped having 4 wheels on the ground I stopped having more than a single limb under the raised corner at any given time.

I am a very careful person, I even waited until my wife got home to be under it once it was in the air

The car is sitting basically as level as normal, in its current position the disc is almost touching the ground.

Also forgot to mention the block is actually concrete filled (pain in the **** to move) and not hollow like normal

Love the Rigid Screw Extractor set, though to be honest the from 2 probably would of come out with a cheap taper easy out but the 3 was a pain due to the angle that I had to drill but atleast they are all out.

And here is a couple better pictures that show how the vehicle was support and the jack just there for the engine so i could control its descent

 

Probably no need to mention but be sure that the new fasteners don't bottom out in the block threads.
