Default Shock boots..YEs or No??

I have read negative things about shock-boots saying that they don't give mono-tubes the ability to clean themselves and everything pools up inside but at the same time, why were they ever designed and why do I see them on a lot of trucks?

jajaja , thanks for the replys i lifted my jeep a few weeks ago and was worrying as hell thinking my shocks could get damaged a after spending that money and all that argue with my wife explaining that if i didnt lift the jeep the front diff could crush the oil pan on a very deep hole , jajaja i still laugh from that day that i said to her look over there if i take a deep hole thats going to hit that and all the oil is going to drip and well have to spend 1500 for a tow to get us home and she stared looking at everything down there kind of saying wtf is he talking about jajajajaj....

i thing shocks look really cool naked , every one on the road stares at my old jeep kind of saying man that jeep must have lots of powers by only looking at the shocks

boots just retain moisture and dirt.

Besides, the shocks look better without boots

Eh I couldn't care less what the shock boots do or don't do. They came with the shocks and I installed them. With all the crap I've been though... water, mud, dirt, snow, salt... I have yet to see it get into the shock boots (and yes I've checked). I guess if the shock came with them, was designed to have them, and has mention of putting them on In the instructions...I don't see a reason not to put them on.

But to each his/her own
