Default Seat Padding

Searched online and it appears preformed seat cushions are not available, if anyone knows a source please let me know.

My 1999 drivers seat cushion is showing its age and needs rebuilding. I am interested in knowing and seeing pics of what you guys have done to restore seats.

I should have been more clear, I searched looking for new preformed seat padding and did not find new padding. I did find the linked post where a sleeping pad was used but I was hopeful for a better repair.

Thanks

I understand. You also asked what people here did to correct it. And the link posted above is the one I was talking about.

Go to the junkyard and get a passenger seat cushion. It's probably NOT the padding, but a cracked bucket anyway.

If your seat is not cracked and the foam is just sagging talk to a local trim/restoration shop and see if they can restore it for you... the shop by me replaced the foam in my front bend seat in my 81 Malibu and it was great. they charged me $150 to replace the foam and put on new stock looking fabric.

I visited my local shop, I have given them some co. The guy gave me some foam and suggested I pull my cover off and put the foam under my seat cushion lifting the factory foam further into the cushion.

In the pic in a previous post it seems the cushion foam is injected into the seat frame so the suggested method would not be possible. This would put me back to cutting and gluing the foam to the sides on top of the cushion.

Hence, my previous post about the aluminum cracking. IT ISN'T THE FOAM!!!!!!!

XJs are not Malibus, Falcons, Thunderbirds, Buicks, Oldsmobiles, or Borgward Isabellas!!!

I love AMC Eagles!!

We had one years ago.

Me, too. They were ahead of their time.

The American Motors Owner's Club had their annual get-together in Sedona a few years back. I had to go!!
