Default Scan tool with live data for OBDI

Trying to figure out what scan tools can display live data, and what kind of live data is available for my 93 era XJ.

I've come up with these potential options from reading through some threads:
Actron CP9690
MT2500 Snap-On
Innova 3140
Chrysler DRBII

Anyone have these and can let me know what I can expect to view with the scan tool? Mostly looking for STFT, LTFT, O2, TPS, MAF, temperatures, etc.

I have Auto-X-Ray EZ Link to read OBD-I. Manual doesn't say what live data will transmit tho.

Slightly off topic but another way at this is to convert to OBD2 with a patch harness

Then any standard obd2 reader with live data will work. If you are going with a DRB3 it would be more cost effective.

With only 4 leads seems like a much less busy adapter could bve fashioned:

Or try one of these cheap things:

Although I've never tried it (because I have an OBD1 reader!)

Is it that easy? How would you wire it up?

I don't have to. This cable is the actual OBD I cable for Jeep:

But if your question is can I make more then sure if I probe my cable I can figure out which one goes where. But again, OBD 1 > 2 adapters are like 12 bucks so why bother?

How much do you charge to make that patch harness?

My vote is for the Snap-On MT2500 "The Brick", only because the shop I worked at, had one. Just make sure you get the keys & cartridges for it.

Anyone have an idea if I can do anything more than read codes only? I want to read live data, not sure if any of the scanners can do this with these inbetween years. I know you can on the Renix era, and OBDII of course.

If you get a hold of a DRB-II, that would probably be your best option... pre-1997 XJ's still relied on an OBD-I system, and thus, they use their own system to read codes. You can do an Off-to-On key sequence (but not start the Jeep... turn from Off-to-On 3-5 times, and stay in 'On' after the last time), and count the number of times the check engine light flashes (it will pause in between the two numbers it will give), and then look up the code(s) it gives. I know a '55' code (flashes 5 times, then pauses for a second, then flashes 5 more times), indicates either an 'Everything OK' (if no codes are present) or 'Done' (once all the codes have been displayed). That's how it worked on my '94 ZJ Grand Cherokee. Again, if you're looking to get data, DRB-II's pop up on eBay. It will be a bit expensive, but well worth it if you do a lot to your XJ.
