Default Rust on block surface while waiting for assembly.

So I finished my stroker block and I taped the head up with painters tape and the block sat in storage for about 4 months. I went to check under the tape and I got an ole rusty surprise.
So what does everyone do to combat rust on the machined surface while not assembled? I figured if I oiled it the tape wouldn't stick. I guess I could oil it every 2 weeks or so and stick a body bag over it.

And then coat it with a little gear oil until assembly time.
