If you do think in these motors it's wise to switch after say the first few oil change cycles, then what do you think would be a good long-term regular oil to use?
The area of the country I'm in, Rotella T6 is actually quite reasonably priced. But either way, I wouldn't let a few bucks sway me one direction or another when it comes to doing what's best for the I6 motor in mine.

I know this has gone on for 59 pages and I've read through numerous but I am still not sure on a few points.
There is T4, T5 and T6.
One reason a lot of people don't run synthetic on high mileage vehicles is there is a tendency for leaks from old seals.For those with high mileage what has your experience been?
I'm talking like 250,000miles plus.

If a seal starts leaking, it needs to be replaced. Don't band-aid the problem by running a thicker oil.
