staying completely on topic here.... with seeing those types of results with it.... Do you think it's a good idea to run it all the time in the motor? or just initially to clean things out when you don't know from PO exactly how it was maintained?
If you do think in these motors it's wise to switch after say the first few oil change cycles, then what do you think would be a good long-term regular oil to use?
The area of the country I'm in, Rotella T6 is actually quite reasonably priced. But either way, I wouldn't let a few bucks sway me one direction or another when it comes to doing what's best for the I6 motor in mine.

There is no problem with running Rotella t6 permanently.

I know this has gone on for 59 pages and I've read through numerous but I am still not sure on a few points.

There is T4, T5 and T6.

One reason a lot of people don't run synthetic on high mileage vehicles is there is a tendency for leaks from old seals. For those with high mileage what has your experience been?

I'm talking like 250,000miles plus.

My motor has close to 200k miles on it. I've replaced pretty much every seal on it because it was leaking no matter what oil I was using... conventional, synthetic, low detergent, high detergent, heavy weight, light weight, didn't matter.

If a seal starts leaking, it needs to be replaced. Don't band-aid the problem by running a thicker oil.

mine has almost 240k on it. 100k miles ago i replaced every oil touching seal except the rear main. ive also been using t6 for several years now. no leaks. i go 6-8k between changes and it doesn’t use/leak a noticeable amount. i never have to add oil regardless of interval.

Mine has 240K and all I had to do was the valve cover gasket and it has a very small leak at the oil filter adapter. I run regular 15w40.

The Super Tech used to be made by Castrol. Now I think it's made by BP or Valvoline.

I think you are right, I think I looked it up one time and found it to be premium grade Valvoline. And I have swore by Valvoline for years and years now. Have torn down many engines to rebuild them after they ran Valvoline their whole lives and they looked incredible for the amount of miles they had.

But I was just trying be a little antagonistic, Everyone is taking this way to serious.
