96 xj roof rusted through in spots above drip rail. Determined to find a good shop in south Florida to replace roof panel and passenger floor. Any recommendations? I cant find any discussions about roof replacement on this forum. Am I searching wrong?

Roof replacement?
Go down south and find a rust free XJ, we've got tons in AZ. Then swap your good parts over to it and junk it.

He lives in south FL. How much farther south should he go? He gets more rain then you do.

Salt water spray is a body killer as well. Park it on or near a beach with high winds is like blasting it with salt. My dad used Coca Cola in the wash water to cut the film.
I'm in key largo. My 1996 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L RWD - 107k . Had it for 10 trouble free years. 1 estimate for roof, & passenger floor replacement, paint, carpet, and tint was 6500$ another for just roof and floor repair paint tint was 2700$ but am afraid the rust will come right back.

Unfortunately rust is like fire ants. Once you got them, they'll come back! The time between is directly related to surface prep and paint. New metal is nice, but even that has to be protected. How much water got down the door posts? Are they still sound? How's the A pillar?
i'll check..
How much water got down the door posts? Looks MINT
Are they still sound? Yes
How's the A pillar? Looks good.
Rained today so no pictures. Checked all the dry xjs in the dry south west as recommended. Couldn't believe it. There is way more on the road out there.
