2000 xj 4.0 4dr. I lifted the jeep a few month's ago and have some grinding and binding sound's when making right turns or going around curve's to the right. I know I need an adjustable trac bar. I have read how to check axle U-joints but still don't fully understand how to diagnose if the are bad or not. Unless there broken. I know that sound. Regardless I would like to replace mine as a preventative/ peace of mind repair as I am often in the mountains far from cell coverage. What am I getting into with this. Is it a difficult time consuming repair or something I can do in a few hour's in the driveway? Have never replaced U-Joints before. Thanks.

I've never done a axle u joint but my ds u joint took maybe a few min to pound out and a few to pound in and the jobs done, I'd figure it's the same as that ha

You're going to need a hammer and a socket.
YouTube "changing u-joint with a hammer". Watch the video by "bleepinjeep".
If you're unsure how to get the axle shaft out watch his video on that as well.
