Default Replacing Oil Pan

I punctured the oil pan on my 01 Jeep Cherokee Sport. Curious if i could replace the pan and gasket myself ? Does the engine need to be lifted, or is it pretty easy to access? Any tips, things to look out for? And a good place to purchase a skid plate.

Thanks for your help!
