Default Should I buy this.....?

Found a 95XJ 4WD for $800 but..... it overheats and overheated on the test drive, Looked like valve cover and exaust manifold gasket were leaking, was low about a quart of oil, front oil pan seal was protruding out, and the smog/charcoal canister has been disconnected but somehow it is registered till next month.
The Odometer says only 120,000 on it?
I drove it in 4 wd and it seemed ok.
Im thinking the 4WD parts alone would be worth it?

On a side note: On my way home from looking at this XJ, I blew a brake cylinder on rear passenger side, pedal went down almost to floor. Got home and brake fluid is flung all over my new tire. LOL

The question is is do you plan on probably sinking a significant amount of resources into it? If so, have at it. Of course, I would negotiate it down to a lower price. Never pay someone what they are asking.

I agree with 4WD...you drove it, it overheated. Talk them down. It has issues. Offer $400. Don't pay more than $500 IMHO.

I offered $600 and his wife said no.
I opened up the radiator cap and it looked like a lava flow, LOL.
Im just afraid it might have a cracked head or block due to the overheating. It does have a new radiator.

Oh, well...LOL

People have an overheat, put in a new rad, and hope it solves the issue...there's more to a cooling system than the rad, people...

You're better off.

Well, there you go. They came down some which shows it is negotiable. If you really want it I would suggest asking them (since the wife is clearly wearing the pants) if they're willing to split the difference with you. See if they'll take $500 and be prepared to pay it immediately.

Sorry, I clearly misread that. Unless you really want it, I would keep looking.

You could buy it and put your engine in it if the body isn't rusted out.

Actually Im looking at buying an ATK and having it installed. I have been saving funds for an engine and the money is burning a hole in my pocket, LOL. If I dont get some kind of engine soon Im afraid the money will vanish and I wont have transportation to work..........................................:blu sh:
