Default Replacing the intermediate shaft

I need to replace the intermediate shaft on my 92 and before I order the shaft, is there anything else I should replace during the process? Seals? Additional bearings?

My philosophy on repairing cars is if you remove it during a repair, replace it. I know sometimes things are replaced that do not need it however I've never broken down or stranded.

Thanks

Good luck getting one. I was looking for one for a couple of weeks, and only found one through Quadratec. It is priced at $130. I checked the local auto parts stores who all told me it was a dealer only part. I reluctantly went to the dealer and was told I needed to purchase the entire column assembly for $400 and there were none in stock at any dealership in the country. I don't get that, but ok.
So what I ended up doing was welding the slip joint at the top that was causing so much extra play in the steering. Only problem with this fix is that you have to take off two of the three bolts from the steering box, and loosen the other so you can tip the box up to allow you to get the shaft back into place since the slip colar is now welded. The steering is much better, and this fix has no effect on the lower half that has the shear casing which allows the shaft to collapse and break so the steering wheel does not end up burried in your chest in a front end collision.

Paint marker. Read it in the Chilton book. Mark the relationship of the shaft so your steering wheel turns the same amount of times left to right
