Replacing the headliner... sigh
Alright so i spent 3 hours medling with my jeep tonight random stuff like making it run again and doing a complete interior cleaning. Decided this weekend would be the right time to replace the headliner; so i broke out the tool kit and started removing all the trim got everything off but the rear seatbelt bolts. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to take them off... any suggestions? and no i will not cut the headliner to work it around them that just seems well destructive

A T-55 tork bit is a tool.. nothing to do with electrical.
This pic should help you visualize it. You should see a bolt with a head on it like on the right in this pic.

So after researching a bit and finally getting everything off, i went out and bought the fabric fits just right with a little overlap gonna do everything tomorrow BUT i bought 3M super 77 glue, a lot of sites said thats what you should be using... can says not recomended for vehicle headliners right on it makes me wonder how well will it hold up? if its not gonna hold for long its not worth doing i would like to get it right the first time. Whats the news on this?

I have never personally had any luck gluing headliners up with any of the products made for that purpose. Last time I did mine I just swapped out the whole headliner foam back and all right on the parking lot of the junkyard.

replaced all three in my three xjs, biggest thing is to make sure you get the curvy corners COVERED in glue, you dont want to do it again, and dont get impatient, let it dry for a full 24 hours before you put it back up. when removing the old stuff (the brown crap), use a shop vac to suck it up.drying and lots of glue are the key.

Never used the 3M stuff. It's important to get all the old foam off the backing board, no adhesive is gonna stick if the foam is still loose.
I wrote a long winded how to on a headliner swap quite awhile ago here, you can probably find it in a search by author using headliner as criteria.

man, remove the headliner! its sooooo much better. I have not noticed any difference in temp or sound. Bonuses: extra head room, looks cooler, you can use bungies to make an overhead web for tow straps and such. saves work...
