Replacement head for 0331
So there's plenty on here about the issues with the 0331 head - what is a suitable replacement head for the suspect 2000-2001 castings? Is a 0331 head from a later year OK - and if so how do you indentify it? What about other Jeep 4.0L heads that will fit without modifications?
thank guys!

In very late 2002 and from 2003 and newer, Chrysler had the 0331 head redesigned by a foundry in Brazil (TUPY). These heads are fine and won't crack on you.
You can identify these heads by the word TUPY cast into the head between cylinders 3-4.
Do NOT under any circumstances replace your old 0331 head with a used 0331 head, unless you see the word TUPY with your own two eyes.
Other good sources are "clearwatercylinderhead" and "alabamacylinderhead" Shipped to your door for around $500 or so, warranties vary a bit. Call them for information. A recent thread said that Clearwater is out of the heads for the 4.0, but that may have changed by now.
