So Im having trouble with this wire with no apparent spot to connect to. I followed it to this connector with the red/white wire. and then from there it goes to the starter relay....I also noticed on the drivers fender well, this relay(?) with the same red and red/white wire combo. what is it? Where does the lone red wire plug in at? Couldn't find squat.
Sorry for lack of detail, electrical isn't my thing.

Thanks Cruiser, I found that pic while searching, but unfortunately all the terminals are being used and have the correct connections

That's what I'm thinkin. My 87 Laredo has a retractable light unit under the hood and the power wire for it looks the same.

Something to do with the AC? Like when the compressor is energized with a relay, the cooling fan relay on the driver's side inner fender is also energized?

Something I should mention is that my red wire has constant 12v and if yours does to then that is probably what it was designated for.

I've got an idea for your red wire. If you put a piggy-back terminal on your ignition wire input on starter relay,(see cruiser's pic),you could put a push button switch between the red wire and the piggy-back terminal. This would give you a remote start switch for troubleshooting.
