Default Renix wiring

Hey guys
anyone know what this plug is for? It's under the drivers side dash. 87 xj.

It looks like it should have a fuse in it. It has pink wires And it has a white wire coming off it that seems as though maybe it plugged into the fuse box?

I should add, I found this because I have no tailights or dash lights again. No blown fuses. No idea what's going on.

Dont take my word for it but I had something similar under mine where someone added after market power locks on a non-power 97 SE. Found in both front doors and removed all the wiring tracing it to a few items under the dash. I installed OEM power windows and locks, bonus was cleaning up mess under the drivers side dash. Good luck finding your brake lights issue. (btw, mine did have a fuse in it.)

That would be my guess as well. The white one taps 12v from the fuse panel and the 2 pinks protect the circuit. Are the pinks actually still connected to something?

The "related" thread below shows the same connector along with many others. I didn't read through the whole thread but perhaps there's some useful info in it.

I'll have a peek under my '88 and see if I have one.

Google says that pak-con III is a fuse holder. It looks like that white wire slipped out of a connector somewhere? I'd have to dig out a wiring schematic, but I think pink with a black strip is interior lighting.

How's the fuse block look? Water or clutch fluid leaking onto it will corrode the terminals and they start breaking if you try to clean them. Does wiggling fuses bring things back to life? If so, I posted the parts numbers of the terminals needed to rebuild in this thread https://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1142103. My first symptom was the dash dying and coming back if I lightly tapped the fuse block with my foot. It took me about 3 hours to replace all the terminals in mine, including replacing some rotten wire and cleaning the firewall connector.

The pink wires are still wired to somewhere. I don't know where they go.

The fuse box itself looks really good. The only thing I noticed was one fuse pulls out easily and the rest seem tight. I don't see any corrosion, I think I may pull it out and check behind it
I had a problem with it with the gauge lights fuse blowing which turned out to be a broken bulb for the climate control. But none of the fuses are blowing now.

So I saw this on one of the other threads. Looks like it's plugged into the fuse panel and a fuse in it. I'm just not sure what it's for?

I flipped through my 89 FSM. There is a 4-amp inline fuse for the cruise control, and it's normally taped to the harness going to the cruise control module. Pink wire goes up to the cruise control buttons, and the other goes over to the brake light switch which is fed from the 15-amp HAZ/STOP fuse. I'm guessing that white wire pullout out of the connector in the middle of the fusebox. Still not sure what that's for, but on the fuse panel it's wired to ignition on power.

Perfect. Thanks.

I have the yellow cruise control box, but no other parts of the system so I guess it's a useless wire then. I noticed it went to the brake switch.
